A Lesson at Salpetriere
Branding + Poster Design + Photography
A revival of Andre de Lorde’s 1908 French horror play, Une Lecon a la Salpetriere. Claire Camu, a patient at the Salpetriere mental hospital, maintains that her paralyzed arm was the result of an experiment performed on her at the hospital. Since she is the play’s central character, the branding identity for this project focuses on her medical condition: the disabled arm.
I was able create content with a personal resonance by taking scans of my mother’s paralyzed right arm and her unafflicted left arm to represent Camu’s character.
